宇宙空間から降り込む粒子は高緯度の電離層に不規則なプラズマ密度構造を形成する。Sato et al. (2018) では、合成開口レーダ衛星を使用してノルウェーのトロムソ上空におけるプラズマ密度の空間的変化をイメージングした。電離層中には小さなパッチ状の構造を伴う数十kmのバンド形状が東西方向に広がっていることが観測され、その発生原因は非干渉散乱レーダーで同時観測された宇宙からの降下粒子であることが実験的に示唆された。 Click to view the articl… もっと読む
